Lest we forget

On the 25th of April 2019, the Anzac Day Melbourne Dawn Service marked the 104th anniversary of the first major military action fought by Australian and New Zealand forces during the First World War.

Thousands gathered at dawn, to honour the fallen on this special day.

It was a pleasure to capture moments of an incredibly diverse audience for RSL Victoria, remembering all the ones we’ve lost and sharing memories with the ones still here. Lest we forget.

It was our first time in Siem Reap, Cambodia and we decided to go on a picnic to surprise our friend with a birthday cake, as her birthday was around the corner. The Beige Resort organised this for us, and it was simply gorgeous. Every detail, from the materials used to the whole set up was so well thought of and presented beautifully.

We were taken to the picnic location in a vintage jeep; the ride with five of us friends together, in the one vehicle was one to remember. We were met with bumpy roads and buffaloes along the way to this secret location.

Hopping off the jeep to find this beautiful setup, was just… magic.

Beautiful white chiffon drapes were intertwined with branches beside a hidden temple in the forest. Rattan weaving is very popular in Siem Reap, and our picnic basket, napkin holders and bags were handmade in rattan. We were so inspired and bought a few of these hand-crafted pieces at the Siem Reap market.

The customer service was impeccable. We felt so warm and welcome. The staff at the Beige resort, went above and beyond to make our stay and activities with them memories to cherish for a lifetime. A special shout out to Koichi, Jerry and Monica from the Beige Resort, thank you so much for your hospitality and kindness.
